Trauma Therapy for Women Who Want Real, Lasting Peace

For when you’ve built a life you love but still find yourself feeling anxious, reactive, or on edge.

What Begins to Shift in Therapy

Feeling Steady

Feeling calm and steady in your daily life instead of constantly bracing for something to go wrong.

Emotional Regulation

Responding to triggers with clarity instead of feeling overwhelmed or spiraling for hours.

Trusting Yourself

Feeling confident in your instincts, boundaries, and emotions instead of second-guessing yourself.

Being Present

Finally enjoying the life you’ve worked hard to build instead of feeling anxious or waiting for the other shoe to drop.

I will not be the girl who learned how to survive but forgot how to live.

Common Challenges
I Help With

  • You’ve tried everything to get control of your emotions. But the harder you try to control them, the louder they seem to get. Emotional regulation isn’t about forcing yourself to calm down. It’s about understanding what your reactions are protecting and resolving what keeps triggering them. When the root is processed, your responses begin to shift naturally.

  • The worry is constant just like it was as a kid. Now that you’re an adult and have built a beautiful life, the anxiety leaves you frustrated and wondering if this is just how you are. It isn’t. Anxiety often has roots in previous experiences that lead to present day issues. When those experiences are processed, anxiety’s grip begins to loosen.

  • Growing up in instability, criticism, unpredictability, or emotional neglect can shape how your nervous system responds today. Childhood trauma and C-PTSD often show up as hyper vigilance, emotional reactivity, or deep self-doubt. Processing early experiences allows your present to feel different from your past.

  • The worst pain you never saw coming has shaken your sense of safety and trust. Whether you’re trying to repair your relationship or decide what comes next, betrayal can leave you questioning yourself and your reality. Processing what happened helps you restore steadiness so you can move forward from a place of clarity.

  • Experiencing sexual abuse or assault can leave you feeling disconnected from others and your own sense of safety. Healing involves more than just talking about what happened. It involves gently processing the trauma so your nervous system doesn’t react as if the danger is still there.

Hi, I’m Amanda Kohl, MA, LMHC

I specialize in helping women heal unresolved trauma so they can finally feel steady and at peace in their lives.

Many of the women who find their way here have worked hard to build a life they care about, but something still feels unsettled inside. You might understand your patterns and still feel stuck in them.

In our work together, we focus on gently processing what your nervous system has been carrying so life begins to feel steadier and more peaceful.

If you’re ready to explore what healing could look like for you, I’d be glad to connect. You’re welcome to schedule a consultation to see if this work feels like the right fit.

What You Can Expect

  • Sessions are $150. I offer private pay therapy for clients who are ready to invest in meaningful, lasting change.

This allows us to focus on the work that actually matters without the limitations or restrictions of insurance. I can also provide a superbill for possible out-of-network reimbursement.

  • I use a holistic, trauma-informed approach to therapy that focuses on helping you process what’s underneath your symptoms, not just manage them.

This often includes Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), along with elements of other approaches that support emotional awareness, nervous system regulation, and long-term change.

Rather than giving you more tools to manage your reactions, we focus on helping your mind and body process the experiences they’ve been holding so you can begin to feel calmer, more grounded, and more like yourself.

  • Both! I see clients virtually throughout Florida and in-person at my office located in Clearwater, FL.

  • There’s no one-size-fits-all answer. Some clients may find relief in just a few sessions, while others may benefit from longer-term therapy. The length of therapy depends on your specific needs and goals. Together, we’ll determine the best course of action to support your healing and growth.

  • I am a private pay provider and do not accept insurance. I can provide a superbill for possible out-of-network reimbursement.

If something here resonates, change is possible.
